International trade roadshow coming to Dudley next month

Dudley borough will be holding an international trade event next month featuring free support and key insights for businesses looking to export or grow their international sales.

Government officials, trade experts and business growth advisers will be sharing their knowledge with local businesses at the ‘Made in Dudley Borough, Sold to the World’ roadshow on Wednesday 13 November from 9am to 12pm.

Registrations are now open to businesses from the borough for the event, with a limited number of places remaining.

Experts will lead informative roundtable discussions covering key parts of a business’s international trade journey, including subjects like market selection and research, culture and communications, and export finance.

Entrepreneurs looking for inspiration can also hear from Dudley businesses that have found success in selling their goods and services across the globe.

The roadshow will be held at the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre in Dudley, home of the Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation (BCIMO).

Dudley Council has partnered with the UK Government’s Department for Business and Trade to stage this exclusive event for Dudley borough firms.

It has been funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, as part of Business Growth West Midlands in Dudley support service’s activity.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:

It’s a great source of pride to hear about our local firms finding success around the world. We want more Dudley businesses to realise their potential to get out there into these new markets.

The roadshow will be a fantastic opportunity for businesspeople in our borough to meet the experts in the field of international trade, pick their brains and make use of their knowledge and connections.

Councillor Paul Bradley, deputy leader of Dudley Council, said:

Export has grown considerably in Dudley during the last few years and there are many means of free support on offer for businesses looking to sell their goods and services across the globe.

This event will walk through that support in a clear and easily understandable way, giving people the confidence they need to take that first step into exporting or build on their progress.

Registrations for the roadshow can be made on the Department for Business and Trade’s event platform.

Businesspeople who are unable to attend are encouraged to share the event with appropriate colleagues from their organisation.
