CAROL JIM CLEMENTS WAS ON THE BOARD OF UNITED HOMES GROUP, A COMPANY THAT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT, IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BUILDING RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS IN SOUTH CAROLINA, NORTH CAROLINA AND GEORGIA THAT ALSO INCLUDES PROPERTIES IN CLEMSON. QUESTIONS WERE RAISED BY OCONEE COUNTY LEADERS ABOUT POTENTIAL OVERLAPS BETWEEN CLEMSON LEADERS, INCLUDING PRESIDENT CLEMENS, DEVELOPERS, AND MULTIPLE DEVELOPMENTS. THE COUNCIL ALSO VOTED TO ASK FOR A FORMAL INVESTIGATION INTO THESE DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES, AND IN THOSE POTENTIAL OVERLAPS. SOON AFTER, THOSE QUESTIONS WERE RAISED, CLEMENS STEPPED DOWN FROM THE BOARD AND ON OCTOBER 19TH, UNITED HOMES SAYS THAT PRESIDENT CLEMENS RESIGNED FROM HIS ROLE, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
